SPORTSPERSONS of city and region have an opportunity to get a respectable job Income Tax Department in Mumbai Region. According to a notification issued by the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax, Mumbai, a total of 155 posts will be filled in various categories including Inspector of Income Tax ( 8 posts), Tax Assistants (83) and Multi-Tasking Staff (64). Sportspersons between the age group of 18-30 with a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university can apply for the post of Inspector of Income Tax. For the post of Tax Assistant the age limit is 18-27 (Bachelor’s Degree and Data Entry speed of 8000 key depressions per hour) while for Multi-Tasking Staff the age should be between 18 and 25 years (Matriculation or equivalent from a recognised University /Board).
The candidate must have attained the stipulated age as on 01.08.2021, states the notification. According to the notification uploaded on Income Tax Department, Mumbai on its webside, sports quota recruitment will be done for sportspersons excelling in athletics, swimming, squash, billiards, chess, carrom, bridge, badminton, lawn tennis, table tennis, shooting, weightlifting, wrestling, boxing, judo, gymnastic, bodybuilding (men), volleyball, basketball, football, kabaddi and cricket (men), According to the notification issued by Kartik Saresa, Deputy Commissioner of Income Tax (HQ), Personal, Mumbai, sportspersons who have represented a state or the country in the national or international competition in any of the games/sports mentioned above can apply. The applications submitted by the sportspersons will be scrutinised and suitable candidates will be shortlisted for further selection process. For selection, the shortlisted candidates will be required to appear for document verification and if further required, the candidates may also be required to undergo ground/proficiency test, adds the notification.
In athletics, athletes excelling in 100 metres, 200 metres, 400 metres, 800 metres, 1500 metres, 5000 metres 10000, metres, 100 hurdles, long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus throw, hammer throw, javelin throw, high jump, pole vault can apply. In swimming, meritorious swimmers in 100m butterfly, 100m breaststroke, 100m backstroke, 100m freestyle can apply. For bodybuilding, candidates can below 70 kg, 70 kg to 80 kg weight category can apply. The last date of submitting online forms is August 25, 2021.
