STEEL Executive Federation of India (SEFI) Chairman N K Banchhor met Union Minister of Steel Ramchandra Prasad Singh at his office and urged him for the measures for implementation of long due 3rd pay-revision. He apprised that in accordance of Department of Public Enterprise (DPE) guidelines the pay revision of executives is still pending owing to affordability clause. Since SAIL has registered profit for three years constantly and now pay revision benefits could be granted as per DPE guidelines but SAIL management incorporated it with NJCS wage revision in unfair manner. In the last nine months over 15 NJCS meetings were convened and still there is no consensus. While executives are compelled to work on 14 years old pay scale and moreover Junior Officers are working on salary, less then the subordinate employees owing to pay anomalies with the pending pay fixation. He informed that Union Minister of Steel, Singh assured regarding measures for granting pay-revision to SAIL executives and the decisions over other issues soon.
