National counselling psychology day observed in PRSU

School of Studies in Psychology under Pt Ravishankar Shukla University (PRSU) Raipur in association with Alumni Association observed National Counseling Psychology Day. To mark the occasion, a daylong workshop (role play and live demonstration) was conducted on ‘Basic Counseling Skill’. Addressing the workshop, PRSU vice chancellor Dr Keshari Lal Verma said that SoS Psychology is a leading study school working extensively in the field of psychology and for the betterment of the society. Since its inception, SoS Psychology has been working in the interest of common people and conducting activities related to counseling by experts.
 
With change in lifestyle, problems in the lives of people increased and mental illness as well as impulsiveness were noticed among children, added the vice-chancellor. He further elaborated that to deal with job related problems and stress, the works need to be organised and problems to be shared so that proper solutions could be taken out to this. Even during the pandemic, psychologists of SoS psychology along with the health department here took up the task of counseling people. Currently, the modern society as well as advanced society is also accepting the importance of psychology, said Dr Verma. Meanwhile, head of SoS psychology Dr Meeta Jha explained the technicalities of counseling.
 
President of the Alumni Association Dr Promila Singh, who is also the founder member of Indian Association of Counseling Psychology, gave detailed information about the programme and the National Counseling Psychology Day. Dr Prabhavati Shukla, Dr Priyamvada Shrivastana, Dr Anjana Purohit, Dr Roli Tiwari, Dr Pushpa, Dr Sameer Thakur, students and alumni members have registered their presence in the programme.
