YASHIKA Singh and Souhardya Biswas won ‘Sports Quiz’, a new addition to this year’s Censports — an annual inter-school sports meet organised jointly by Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass and Sports for All (SFA Play). Participants competed in chess, yoga, karate (kata), sports quiz and speedcubing to claim top honours. In the virtual inter-school sports meet, players from India, the USA, UAE, Oman, Bangladesh, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain took part. With the participation of 2853 children in the age groups of 9 to 18 years, from 361 schools around the world, the 9-day long inter-school sports meet became a big online sporting event. Yashika, a Grade 4 student of the hosts school was the best in Under-11 age group while Souhardya of Grade 8, also of CPS, AB emerged champion in the U-15 category. Mumbai’s Reyansh Aggarwal of JBCN International School (Parel) and Naina Nakra of Euro School followed Yashika to the second and third spots respectively. Souhardya’s school-mate Yukta Singh finished second while Mumbai’s Nirvaan Zaveri Aditiya of Birla World Academy ended third. In the U-18 group, Armaan Rawell of CPS AB and Kushal Agrawal of CPS, Katol Road were declared second and third best at the brain game. The contenders for speedcubing were required to complete their respective challenges and upload the video for the same.
Grade 10 student of Modern School, Arnav Kumar was runner-up in U-18 speedcubing and was followed by CPS AB’s Ansh Rathod. Directors of Centre Point Group of Schools, Aruna Upadhyaya, Arun Upadhyaya, Radhika Rajwade, Dr Jai Singh Rajwade, The Management of Lighthouse Learning and Mukta Chatterjee, Founder Principal and Advisor, Radhika Mehra, Principal, Perveen Cassad, Vice-Principal, Bhakti Bobde, HOD Sports of Centre Point School, Amravati Road Bypass, along with teaching and non-teaching staff congratulated winners and wished them luck for future endeavours.
