Breaking good news to employees of power sector in Maharashtra, Dr Nitin Raut, Energy Minister, said the pending promotion list is going to be issued very soon. Speaking at convention Maharashtra Rajya Veej Tantrik Kamgar Sanghatana organised in city, the Energy Minister said that promotion issue that has got stalled owing to certain factors is now resolved and employees in all categories, Class-I to IV, stand to benefit. The programme was organised at Jattewar Sabhagruha on Sunday wherein Nagorao Magar, President, of Tantrik Kamgar Sanghatana, presided. Sayyed Jahirodduin, General Secretary, Suhas Rangari, Director, MSEDCL, Nagpur Region, and Bhausaheb Bhakre, Secretary, R P Thorat, Anil Shirsath, Tarachand Kolhe Mama were prominently present on the dais. Speaking further, Dr Raut said technicians are the real COVID-19 warriors as they worked dedicatedly despite the dangers to ensure uninterrupted supply of power to consumers in Maharashtra.
The power sector is changing fast and everyone needs to evolve to challenges that lies ahead of us. At the same time, the Minister assured to resolve the pending issues of technical staff and said a meeting would be organised soon. He further said the assets of power companies are Rs 56,000 crore and the debt is Rs 57,000 crore. Earlier, Syed Zahiruddin underlined the need for cent per cent recovery to ensure MSEDCL remains vibrant and said technical workers were committed to it. He also put forward demands for implementation of voluntary retirement scheme for technical workers, privatisation of power companies and threat to existence of employees, purchase of power only by MSEDCL, etc. were discussed. As per tentative information, about 2500 to 5,000 promotions, in case 100 per cent vacancies are filled-up in MahaVitaran, MahaGenco and MahaTransco, could be issued by end of the month.
The promotions lingered on first due to issue about promotions to SC/ST against General category posts, later due to Maratha reservation and third due to stalled annual transfers first due to COVID-19 outbreak and thereafter cap by State Government in view of precarious financial position. So in all about 1,000 promotions in MahaVitaran itself are pending but at many places the companies have went for outsourcing and hence on roll strength of employees is quite less, said union officials. Suhas Paranjape, Superintending Engineer, MSEDCL, Nagpur Circle (City), Narayan Amzare, SE (Nagpur Rural), Madhusudan Marathe, Joint Chief Industrial Relations Officer; KY Bagad, Radheshyam Shadmallu, R R Sawkare, Vijay Tayde, Uday Madure, Rajesh Gorle, Kailas Gaurkar were also present for the convention. Jayant Tupkar, Kailas Satve, Yogesh Dhande, Rajesh Bagde and Hemant Sakharwade worked hard for the success of the event.
