Farmers all praises for Saur Sujala Yojana

 

 

GOVERNMENT’S Saur Sujala Yojana, launched under CREDA, has turned out to be an effective tool in boosting income of farmers in remote inaccessible areas. According to official data, so far 7,025 solar pumps have been installed the yojana across Gariaband. 5,860 solar pumps have been installed during the first phase to fourth phase of Saur Sujala Yojana. 1,235 solar pumps under Saur Sujala Yojana have been installed in the fifth phase against the target of 2,000 pumps. CREDA’s Executive Engineer Indubhushan Sahu informed that under Solar Sujala Yojana, farmers of remote and non-electrified villages were provided with up to 95 per cent grant for agricultural work. Earlier, farmers were dependent on rain for irrigation.

 

In case of no rain or scanty rainfall, the crops used to get ruined, due to which the farmers suffered financial loss, but at present the Saur Sujala Yojana has given a lot of relief. With installation of the solar pump under the scheme, the farmers do not have to depend on the rain and the crop is produced in good quantity. Resultantly, the economic condition of the farmers benefited under Saur Sujala Yojana is continuously improving.

 

All the farmers who have installed solar pumps in their fields are all praises for the Yojana. Shravan Singh, Jairam Netam, Dhansing Netam, all farmers of village Patharri of Mainpur block, informed that earlier they were unable to take Rabi crops even though they had agricultural land due to non-availability of irrigation facilities, but after installation of solar pump, they were taking both Rabi and Kharif crops twice a year. Farmers Sheshmal Giriraj and Tulsidas Patra of village Kumhadikala of Devbhog block said that they were earlier unable to take crops even though they had agricultural land due to non-availability of irrigation facilities, but Saur Sujala had ended their irrigation problem. Now both the farmers are taking vegetables on their land after installing the pump. Their financial condition prospered by installing solar pumps.
