ONE of Nagpur’s brightest talents in the sport of lawn tennis, Sejal Bhutada has won the Sania Mirza Tennis Academy AITA CS7 Under-16 doubles tennis tournament held at Hyderabad. The tournament was played under various categories and Sejal won in the Under-16 category with her partner Nainika Reddy from Solapur, informs Vijay Naidu of Nagpur District Hardcourt Tennis Association.
The unseeded pair upset Prisha Shinde and Vennela Reddy in straight sets 6-4, 6-1 to bag the crown. Sejal trains with her coaches Navin More and Vishal Landge at the MSLTA Tennis Academy in Ramnagar, Nagpur. In the U-16 singles Sejal went down fighting to Nainika Reddy 6-3, 7-5 in the quarter-finals. The Under-14 matches started on Monday and Sejal is expected to win a medal as she starts as the top seed. Tennis circuit has started across the country and in Maharashtra tournaments have been held at Solapur, Nashik, Nanded, Parbhani, and Beed.
