Prabhman, Yashashvi win Below 1700 Chess Tournament titles

Prabhman Singh Malhotra from Korba and Yashasvi Upadhyay from Raipur emerged as champion of the State- Level Online Below 1700 Chess Tournament, organised by the Chhattisgarh Pradesh Chess Sangh. Dr D N Sahu, President of Mahasamund District Chess Association, attended the concluding function of the tournament as the chief guest. The function was presided over by Dinesh Lamba, President of Korba District Chess Association. Underlining the importance of sports, Dr Sahu said that sports lead to a healthy life, it bring energy, agility and vigor. So keep it included in your daily routine, he said.
 
Addressing the players, Lamba, said that the players should dedicate 5 to 7 hours daily to chess. Organising Secretary Hemant Khute conducted the programme. International judges Alankar Bhivgade, FIDE Arbiter Ravi Kumar, FIDE Arbiter Rohit Yadav, National Arbiter Anish Ansari, Technician Ashutosh Sahu, Zoom Arbiter Mayank, Raki Dewangan and Saroj Vaishnav of Organising Committee played an important role in making the competition a success. In Open category, Prabhman Singh Malhotra, Korba (4 points); Gautam Kesari, Ambikapur (4 points); Nischay Tiwari, Korba (4 points); Vishwajit Singh, Durg (3 points); Arnav Drolia, Raipur (3 points); Shubham Basone, Raipur (3 points); Ishaan Saini, Durg (3 points); Pranjal Biswal, Raigarh (3 points); Arpit Singh, Raipur (2.5 Marks) and Alankrit Singh, Raipur (2.5 Marks) remained in top ten list. In women’s category, Yashasvi Upadhyay, Raipur (3 points); Soumya Agarwal, Raipur (2 points); Jasman Kaur, Korba (2 points); Pari Tiwari, Korba (1 point); Tanisha Drolia, Raipur (1 point) and Anushka Jain, Raipur (1 point).
