Shaam-e-Gazal organised by Urdu Academy

 

 

Madhya Pradesh Urdu Academy organized Shaam e Gazal programme under online series Gamak on Thursday. Nilema Sharma of Gwalior and Javedh Usmani of Bhopal enthralled everyone through their soulful performances. In the starting of the programme, Urdu Academy Director Dr Nusrat Mehdi threw light on the programme. After this, Nilema Sharma gave her performance. She started her performance by singing the gazal of Bahadur Shah Jafar “ Ki Baat Karni Mujhe Mushkil Kabhi Aisi To Na Thi…Jaisi Ab Hain Teri Mehfil Kabhi Aisi to Na Thi,”. After she recited the famous gazal of Bashir Badra “ Aankoh Mein Raha Dil Mein Utar Kar Nahi Dekha”.

 

She also gave voice to Gopal Das Neeraj’s Gazal “ Jab Chale Jayenge Ham Laut Ke Sawan Ki Tarah,”. She is a known name in the world of Gazal and light songs. She is A grade artist of Doordarshan and Akashwani. She received singing education from late RS Bagh of Gwalior Gharana and Padam Shri Bala Saheb Pochwale. She has the credit of giving performance in Akashwani Sangeet Sammelan-Dehradoon, Habitat Centre_New Delhi, Kullu International Festival, Taaj Mahotsava, Lata Mangeshkar Alankaran-Indore etc. The second performance was given by Javedh Usmani. He gave mesmerizing performance by singing Jaa Nishar Aktar’s gazal “ Tu Is Kadar Apne Karib..” and Galib’s “ Har Baat Par Kehto ho Tum..”. he also recited the gazal of Kaif Bhopali “ Ye Mijaje Naaz Ke Wafa Hua..” etc. He is a known gazal singer in Bhopal. He started to get singing education from the tender age of six years. He received singing education from his father late Wahid Usmani. He had given his first stage performance at the age of nine years. He has also gone abroad to give performance. He gave performances in Dubai, Sharjah, Qatar, Abu Dhabi etc. He is approved artist of Aakashwani.
