Zaheer Qureshi fondly remembered in ‘Hindi Ghazal Ke Bahane’ programme

“Through the medium of his composition, Ghazalkar Zaheer Qureshi touched every society. His work reflected struggle for justice and voice against social inequality. Despite this, Zaheer Qureshi was not a pessimist. His works also reflected hope for tomorrow,” said retired IAS officer Manoj Shrivastava in the program “ Hindi Gazal Ke Bahane” organized by Zaheer Qureshi institution on the pretext of Hindi Ghazals at Dushyant Museum on Thursday. Manoj Shrivastava was chief guest of the programme. He has recently retired from the post of Additional Chief Secretary. Throwing light on Zaheer Qureshi's collection of ghazals, he gave voice some composition of Qureshi. International renowned litterateur Rajesh Joshi was presiding over the program.
 
He shed light on the works of Zaheer Qureshi in detail. He also narrated the memoirs related to Zaheer Qureshi. Zaheer Qureshi's elder brother and poet Qadir Qureshi Dard, who were present in the program, recalled many unexplored aspects related to Zaheer Qureshi's life and said that Zaheer was firm in tune. He had decided that he would confine his works to literature only and would not use them for earning money and fame. He followed it throughout his life. Special guests Ram Prakash Tripathi and Akhtar Azad from Mumbai also expressed their views in the program. Dr Mahesh Manuj gave a welcome address as the program commenced. He said that Zaheer Qureshi's wish was the unstoppable journey of Hindi Ghazals. Manuj said that it will be the endeavor of the organization to make this dream of Zaheer Qureshi come true. The program was successfully conducted by Manish Badal. The chief guests were presented with fruits by Premchand Gupta and Kamlesh Verma Gul. Literary writers, dignitaries of the city and literature lovers were present in the programme.
