IT Bhilai celebrates 6th Foundation Day

 

 

Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai on Saturday celebrated 6th Foundation Day with joyful spirit and enthusiasm. On the occasion, DG CSIR Dr Shekhar C Mande was present as chief guest of the function while chairman, BoG, IIT Bhilai K Venkataraman graced the occasion as the guest of honour. Addressing the gathering, Director of IIT Bhilai professor Rajat Moona spoke about the meticulous planning behind the construction work of the permanent campus and highlighted the progress being made. Meanwhile, Venkataramanan released the ‘IIT Bhilai: In Press 2020-21’ magazine highlighting the institute’s achievements published by the press over the past year. He also highlighted the various ongoing developments at the institute, comparing its growth to the early stages of older IITs. He suggested that the institute should do all it can to be an intellectual capital through research collaborations and partnership. He also encouraged them to be the future game changers in the fields of innovation and technology.

 

Dr Shekhar praised IIT Bhilai for the progress made despite all the hindrances caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and he encouraged all the institute’s members to work hard, believe in themselves and secure India’s place in the domain of science and technology. The IIT Bhilai community enjoyed the splendid performance ‘Journey of IIT Bhilai’, which was showcased by students through dance, acting and poetry recital. The ‘IIT Bhilai Anthem’ was released by Dr Shekhar.
