MEGA reshuffle of Deputy Commissioners of Police (DCPs) as well as in-charge of police stations is on cards in Nagpur Police Commissionerate area. At least four DCPs have completed their tenure and may be transferred elsewhere from Nagpur in the General Transfers (GT). Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar is keen on appointing new police station in-charges at seven to eight police stations, said a police official. As per the Government notification, the GT of State Police will be completed before August 14.

The official said that new in-charges of police stations would be appointed, as many existing officers have completed their tenure and some have retired from service. The top cop is preparing the list and waiting for the GT order, since many officers of the rank of Police Inspector have completed their five-year term and are due for transfer from the Commissionerate. DCP (Detection) Gajanan Rajmane, DCP (EOW) Vivek Masal, DCP (Zone-II) Vinita Sahu, DCP (Zone-V) Neelotpal have completed their full tenure in Nagpur city, and are due for transfer, the official in the know of things told ‘The Hitavada’. DCP (Zone-IV) Dr Akshay Shinde, DCP (Zone-V) Neelotpal, and DCP (Zone-III) Lohit Matani are IPS officers of 2014 batch, and are eligible for first posting as District Superintendent of Police (DSP).

The office of Director General of Police has decided to give posting to all 2014 batch officers as DSP, which may be reflected in the transfer list. After accommodating 2014 batch IPS officers as DSP, some officers of 2015 batch including DCP (Zone-I) Noorul Hasan also have a chance to become top cop of district police unit. As DCP (Detection) Rajmane is due for transfer, all eyes in police circles are on his possible successor. The names doing the rounds in police circles include DCP (HQ) Dr Sandip Pakhale, DCP (Special Branch) Basavaraj Teli, and DCP (Traffic) Sarang Awad, an official said. Since retirement of Ravindra Kadam last year, the post of Joint CP has been lying vacant. In the GT order, the City Police is expecting to get new Joint CP. Similarly, since retirement of Dilip Zalke, the post of Additional CP (South Region) is waiting for new officer to take charge. A couple of days ago, Guardian Minister of district Dr Nitin Raut had hinted at getting new men in both these offices.

206 PSIs, APIs in ‘transfer mode’ A total of 94 Police Sub-Inspectors (PSIs) and Assistant Police Inspectors (APIs) have completed their tenure in Nagpur city and 112 others have moved request to the office of Director General of Police, for transfer. The transfer list expected to be released next week, may have names of more than 125 PSIs/APIs from Nagpur, sources in the Establishment Board of Maharashtra Police informed ‘The Hitavada’.
