As a routine practice, Government prepares a list of professors as per their seniority. The names of professors in the category of senior ones are considered for the promotion of Deans. They are given the appointment of Dean as per the procedure. But, Government has observed that when such persons get the charge of Dean, they are not habitual of handling administrative processes. This time, Government has thought of giving additional charge of Dean to such professors so that they get used to administrative work. This time Government has given additional charge of Dean at 11 Government Medical Colleges (GMCs).
Dr Mahendra Kura, Professor and Head, Skin, Grant Government Medical College, Mumbai has been asked to take the charge of Dean at GMC, Alibag. The post of Professor, Skin is not sanctioned at Alibag but due to administrative reason he is posted on deputation. Dr Girish Thakur, Professor of ENT with Vilasrao Deshmukh Government Medical College, Latur was given the charge of Dean of Alibag.

Mumbai has been transfered to B J Medical College, Pune. He has been asked to take the additional charge of Dean of B J Medical College. Dr Vanashri Patil, Professor of Department of Psychiatry at Pune has been transfered to Mumbai in the post that became vacant after the transfer of Dr Kale. Dr Murlidhar Tambe, Professor of Preventive Social Medicine (PSM) at Pune has handed over the charge of Dean to Dr Kale.
Dr Mukund Tayade, Head and Professor of Surgery, Grant GMC, Mumbai was transfered to Government Medical College, Sindhudurg on the same post. He was given the charge of Dean at Sindhudurg which was handed over to him by Dr S S MOre, Professor and Head, Paediatrics, Dr Shankarrao Chavan, Medical College, Nanded.
Dr Pradip Dixit, Professor and Head of Forensic Science, Miraj has been transfered to the same post at Rajashri Shahu Maharaj Government Medical College, Kolhapur. He was also asked to take the charge of Dean there. Dr S S MOre, Professor, Paediatrics, Dr Shankarrao Chavan, Medical College, Nanded who was handling the additional charge has given the charge to Dr Dixit
Dr Ashok Nitnavare, Professor and Head, Department of ENT, Government Medical College and Hospital, Nagpur has taken the charge as Dean at Chandrapur Government Medical College.Dr Avinash Tekade, Professor and Head, Department of Anatomy has given the charge of Dean to Dr Nitnavare. Meanwhile Dr Devendra Mahore, who was working as HOD, ENT at Chandrapur was trasfered to Nagpur in place of Dr Nitnavare.
At present Dr Shekhar Rajderkar, former Pro-Vice Chancellor of Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, a Nagpurian is the Dean at Government Medical College, Osmanabad. His retirement is due on September 30 this year. Dr Bhalchandra Murhar, HOD, Biochemistry at Nagpur’s GMCH has been asked to take charge from Dr Rajderkar after later’s retirement.
Since the tenure of Dr Ajay Keolia as Dean of Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital ended in June, the additional charge was given to Dr Bhavana Sonawane, Head, Department of Radiodiagnosis. Now Government has come up with an order according to which Dr Sonawane will continue as Dean till further orders.
Dr Apurva Pawade, Head, Department of ENT at Akola’s GMC was transfered to GMC, Gondia on the same post. He was also given additional charge of Dean at Gondia. The charge of Dean was with Dr N G Tirpude, Head, Departmennt of Anaesthesiology.
Dr Shriniwas Shintre, Head, Deparment of Orthopaedics, Trauma Care Centre, Pune has taken the additional charge of Dean at Yavatmal’s Shri Vasantrao Naik Government Medical College. Till now the responsibility of Dean was bestowed upon Dr M B Kamble, Professor and Head of Paediatrics.
Dr Bhaskar Khaire, Professor and Head of Opthalmology at Swami Ramanand Teerth Rural Government Medical College, Ambejogai was given the additional charge of Dean there. He has taken the charge from Dr Shivaji Suke, Professor of Anatomy in the same college.
Dr Milind Fulpatil, Professor of Anatomy at GMCH, Nagpur who in the past had looked after Super Speciality Hospital for some time has taken the charge of Dean at GMC, Jalgaon. He was transfered to his department at Jalgaon. Dr Jaiprakash Ramanand, Professor and Head, Department of Medicine at Shri Bhausaheb Hire GMC, Dhule was given additional charge of Dean at Jalgaon.
