Aarna shoots seven golds in State championship

PLAYERS of Gun for Glory Shooting Academy bagged 23 medals in the 24th State-level Shooting Championship in Indore. Upcoming player Aarna Rajput, who also trains at Gun for Glory Shooting Academy in Jabalpur, clinched total seven gold medals, including four individual and three in team events. More than 700 shooters participated in the rifle and pistol events of different events for men and women. Representing Gun for Glory Jabalpur, Aarna won four gold medals in 10-metre air pistol’s sub-youth, youth, junior and senior categories while Melvin Porter won a team gold in 10-metre pistol and a silver medal in 10-metre air pistol and Anvi Bharadwaj secured a bronze medal in 10-metre peep sight sub-youth women competition.
 
Tanisha Jaiswal secured a bronze medal in 10-metre air pistol event in junior women category. Besides, in 10-metre air pistol women, team of Aarna, Tanisha and Nancy Gupta won a gold, in 10-metre air pistol junior women, Aarna, Tanisha and Saumya Sahu won a gold medal and in 10-metre air pistol youth women, Aarna, Tanisha and Aarya Vishwakarma won gold medal. Similarly, in ISSF 10-metre pistol men, Ritik Tiwari won a bronze medal, Rahul (changed name) won a bronze medal in 10-metre air pistol junior men and Mananya Bhandari and Nishat Afza secured a silver and a bronze medal in 10-metre air pistol junior women. Total 18 players qualified to participate in National Shooting Competition. Qualified players in national competition will be selected for trials of Indian team to participate in international competitions. These players are being trained by chief coach, Nishant Nathwani, assistant coaches, Anuj Ratnprabha and Shakti Chakrawarty.
