Dr Sudhir Gupta, a well-known Gastroenterologist with Super Speciality Hospital (SSH), was appointed as regular Dean of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Dr Gupta was given charge as Acting Dean a few months back. Dr Gupta is a known name associated with GMCH for the last over 20 years. Sometime back he was in-charge of Super Speciality Hospital, during the same time Dr Gupta did several work. He tried his best to bring SSH up. The Gastroenterology Department did great progress under his leadership.

 

He had brought several new and modern equipment in the department. There are very few Gastroenterologists in the country and Dr Gupta is one of those few. Gastroenterology Department became the first to start Post Graduate course and the credit goes to Dr Gupta. The department catered to the needs of poor and needy patients not only from the region but also from the States like Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The appointment of Dr Gupta is hailed not only by medical fraternity but also by the other sections of the society.
