“LEADERS keep moving from one level of success to another. They don’t get overwhelmed by any one successful thing at any point of their journey. Being successful, thus becomes an important trait of leaders as they consider success as a journey and not a destination”, said reputed Chartered Accountant and MD SMS Envocare Hemant Lodha. He was addressing the audience on the topic ‘A to Z of Leadership’ at the Wisdom Hour organised by Vidarbha Management Association (VMA) on Sunday. Lodha, who has authored various books on management and spirituality, further said that leaders with vision are ought to be successful as they can see what others can’t. He stressed on the crucial qualities of leaders that include vision, optimism, humility, character, etc. He put forth the A to Z of leadership wherein he explained about the ‘must-have’ qualities of a leader from his point of view. Lodha explained that ‘C’ stands for character. It is the one thing that is at the foundation of business reputation.
“A person with great character doubtlessly sails smoothly and confidently in any venture he takes up,” he added. Lodha gave numerous examples to highlight the various leadership qualities represented by the A-Z alphabet. He also shared a tip that if one wishes to understand any topic deeply one should start exploring its various dimensions, which is possible by compiling A to Z lists about it. With A to Z, one explores at least 26 new things. Prior to this session, the ‘Gyan’ session was conducted by Sandeep Tibdiwal of Surbhi Traders. He delivered a short talk on a study of ‘Retailers Purchase Cycle’. He shared his concept of maintaining a calendar based on days and not date. This calendar helps in measuring time results and analysis of output. Vidarbha Management Association is based at Nagpur and meets every Sunday at 10.30 am. VMA is dedicated to impart learning related to business management and leadership to its members. VMA is a non-profit organisation and is currently in its 17th successful year of operation.
