Severe cold sets in MP, Bhopal record coldest day

A few parts of Madhya Pradesh witnessed rains on Monday. A total of 18 stations of the Weather Department recorded minimum temperature ranging between 6 and 10 degrees Celsius.
Severe cold was felt in Indore and Dhar while coldest day was recorded in Tikamgarh, Betul, Bhopal, Raisen, Rajgarh, Khandwa, Ratlam, Shajapur, Datia and Guna districts. Minimum temperature in a few districts like Gwalior and Ujjain was declined by several notches. Lowest minimum temperature was recorded as 6 degrees Celsius in Gwalior.
Four cities of State recorded maximum and minimum temperatures as Bhopal with 19.1 degrees Celsius and 09.9 degrees Celsius, Indore 18.6 degrees Celsius and 08.6 degrees Celsius, Jabalpur 19.7 degrees Celsius and 12.6 degrees Celsius and Gwalior 19.6 degrees Celsius and 06.3 degrees Celsius.
Meteorology Department has forecast severe cold in Ujjain, Bhopal, Gwalior and Chambal on January 25. Maximum and minimum temperature in Bhopal would hover around 20 degrees Celsius and 8 degrees Celsius on January 25. Weather officials said that severe cold conditions are coming back to state from Tuesday. The department has forecast severe cold in several parts of State from January 25 to 28. Though there will be no rain for next two weeks but temperature would be declining by several notches. There are also possibilities of fog in various areas.
Weather Department said that from second and third week of February, another system is being formed that would result into rains. As it was cloudy day on Sunday, night temperature increased in many districts by 15 Degree Celsius. Shahdol, Jabalpur and Gwalior received dense fog throughout day. Minimum temperature would be declining by 4 to 6 notches on January 25 and 26.
Temperature would be declining below 10 degrees Celsius in maximum areas of State.
