‘Issues in Hingna MIDC should be resolved with collective efforts’

MIDC Industries Association (MIA) Hingna recently held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone-I) Nagpur Lohit Matani to discuss the various issues of MIDC Hingna Industrial Area. Umesh Besarkar, PI, MIDC Police Station, was also addressed various issues. Officials from MIDC Ashish Timande, M B Vyas and H G Rathod along with officials from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) Girish Rahate and Sanjay Vitankar were present on the occasion. In the meeting, C G Shegaonkar, President of MIA Hingna, welcomed DCP Lohit Matani and PI Umesh Besarkar and briefed them about the major issues of MIDC Hingna. Pravin Palkar, Joint Secretary of MIA Hingna, and Lloyd Sequera raised the issue of encroachments located near Electronic Zone.
“There should be a police outpost established nearby Electronic Zone which has been a long-pending demand of the industries and MIA along with industries are ready to fully support this initiative,” Palkar added. Shailesh Tiwari said that the presence of liquor shops near Amar Nagar is a serious cause of concern for industries located nearby and also for women and the area should be dealt with strictly. Girish Rahate of MSEDCL said, “There have been frequent instances of transformer oil and other electrical utilities getting stolen thereby causing huge losses to the industries.” Ashish Timande of MIDC said, “There have been thefts of street light LEDs and thus there are stretches where street lights are not working in MIDC Hingna. Rajesh Ganorkar, EC Member of MIA Hingna elaborated on the traffic snarls and roadblocks caused whenever exams are conducted at TCS iON centres. PI Besarkar said that night surveillance by beat marshals are regularly ongoing in MIDC Hingna. MIDC Police Station is taking serious cognisance of the issue regarding thefts and several initiatives have been taken.
DCP Lohit Matani gave a patient hearing to all the issues and assured to take suitable action in this regard. He suggested continuing the anti-encroachment drive regularly so that it can have the desired effect. He also assured full support towards establishing the proposed police outpost and also suggested to install CCTV cameras for better area coverage. He assured to take up the issue of roadblocks whenever exams are there at centres by deputing extra personnel for effective traffic management and other issues discussed in the meeting. DCP Matani said, “Security and encroachment issues should be resolved in association with all stakeholders to have the desired effect.” Sachin Jain, Secretary of MIA Hingna proposed the formal vote of thanks.
