Five vehicle-lifters held with 17 stolen vehicles worth 10 lakh

In a majorbreakthrough, a combined team of Crime Branch and police have nabbed five vehicle-lifters and three buyers and retrieved 17 stolen vehicles from them amounting to Rs 10 lakh.
The arrested vehicle lifters have been identified as Arjun alias Ankit Rajput (21), son of Shiv Pratap Singh of Ranjhi, Shrikant Upadhyay (21), son of Nidhish Upadhyay of Katangi, Krishnapal Singh alias Bhura (19), son of Bhopal Singh of Katangi, Shubhanshu Vanshkar (21), son of Shankar Lal Vanshkar of Ranjhi and Ajju alias Vishal Patel (27), son of Bihari Lal Patel of Ranjhi while three buyers named Deepu alias Dilip Jain (54), son of Vijay Chand Jain of Katanti, Afsar Mansuri (27), son of Garimulla Mansuri of Katangi and Mukhtar Mansuri (40) of Katangi.
Additional SP (City), Gopal Prasad Khandel informed this while addressing a press conference, on Tuesday.
The Additional SP added that acting on a tip-off, Crime Branch received information about a habitual vehicle-lifter, Arjun Singh alias Ankit Rajput who was sighted with a motorcycle and was trying to sell it in Ranjhi.
Taking prompt action on the information, police started a search and nabbed the suspected man and retrieved a stolen motorcycle from him.
On his identification, Ranjhi and Khamaria police started a search and trapped four more vehicle-lifters and three men from Katangi who were purchasing stolen motorcycles. Police have seized total 17 stolen motorcycles amounting to Rs 10 lakh from the accused.
