The dream of four and a half lakh families of the State is going to come true before Diwali. On the day of Dhanteras, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will conduct virtual Griha Pravesh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to these rural families. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will attend the programme of Griha Pravesham from Satna. The programme will start on October 22 at 3 pm. Madhya Pradesh is one of the leading states of the country in the construction of Pradhan Mantri Awas (Gramin). Not only is the housing construction going on fast in the State, but the construction quality is also being taken care of. Earlier, only 20,000 to 25,000 houses could be completed per month, now the number of houses constructed per month has reached to one lakh. In the last financial year, 2.60 lakh houses were completed. In the first 6 months of this financial year, more than 4.30 lakh houses have been completed.
So far 48 lakh rural houses have been approved under the scheme in the State, out of which 29 lakh houses have been completed. More than Rs 35,000 crores have been spent on these houses. Under the special project, 18,342 houses have been approved in Guna and Sheopur districts.
400 per cent increase in budget: In the budget of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin), a historic increase of 400 percent has been made in this year’s budget as compared to the last financial year. For the implementation of the scheme in this financial year, there is a budget provision of Rs 10,000 crore for the state, in which Rs 6,000 crore will be given by the central government and Rs 4,000 crore by the State Government.
Awas Samagri app: Awas Samagri app has been created to make housing construction material sand, iron, brick, ballast, cement, wood etc. easily available to the beneficiaries under the scheme at affordable rates. On this app, 14,850 material sellers and 32,000 service providers, masons, carpenters, electricians, plumbers, painters etc. have been registered. The rates of material in the districts have also been controlled by the administration.
51,000 masons trained: Under the scheme, more than 51,000 masons have been trained for construction of good quality houses. Among them, there are 9,000 women masons. At present, training of 8,000 masons is going on.
Use of fly ash bricks: Fly ash bricks are also being used in the construction of houses. Fly ash bricks manufacturing units have been established in the State Rural Livelihood Mission in the districts having power plants. With this, 324 members of 37 women self-help groups have also been provided employment by providing 30 machines. About 13,68,000 fly ash bricks are being sold every month.
Centering material: Centering material has been made available to 18,776 members of 9,995 self-help groups for housing construction by providing loans from banks. This has not only provided good material for construction, but has also provided employment to a large number of people. Benefit of convergence with other schemes: Under the scheme, 20,83,000 beneficiaries have also been given the benefit of convergence with other schemes. Wages are being provided from MNREGA, gas connections from Ujjwala scheme, toilets from Swachh Bharat Mission and health services through Ayushman Yojana. Toll-free number for assistance: 155237 has been set up with the aim of making the beneficiaries get the benefits of the scheme easily and resolving any kind of their problems.
