5 from Vidarbha killed in bus tragedy near Nashik

In the horrible accident of the private Yavatmal-Mumbai bus near Nashik that left 12 people dead, as many as 5, including the driver of the bus, belong to Vidarbha region. Besides, around 20 people from the region have been injured in the accident. Though the process of identification of bodies was on when last reports came in, five of the identified deceased include Ajay Mohan Kuchankar (16), a resident of Maregaon Magaru in Wani taluka; Uddhav Bhilang (44), a resident of Parodi in Washim district; Laxmibai Nagurao Mudholkar (50), a resident of Lonar in Buldana district, Kalyani Aakash Mudholkar (3), of Lonar in Buldana district and Bramha Manwar (45) of Pohradevi in Washim district.
 
On getting information about the accident, relatives of the passengers who were on the bus rushed to the office of the Chintamani Travels. Sometime later, District Guardian Minister Sanjay Rathod also reached the spot and contacted Nashik Collector, who sent the list of 48 passengers on that bus out of which 10 people were yet to be identified. Of the total 48 passengers, 41 had sustained injuries and were admitted to Nashik Government Hospital for treatment. The bus (MH-29/AW-3100) started from the Chintamani Travels office in Yavatmal on Friday at around 3 pm.
 
The bus which took the Darwah route had initially 30 passengers in it out of which 5 were to alight in Nashik, later 7 people from Digras, 2 from Arni and 4 from Pusad boarded the bus. Guardian Minister Sanjay Rathod stated that after the accident the authorities’ priority was to take the injured to hospital. Stating that the bus was carrying more passengers than permitted, Rathod assured that a probe into the incident will also be conducted. Among the people being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the Government Hospital, are Amit Kumar (34) from Yavatmal, Sachin Jadhav (30), Ashiwini Jadhav (26), both from Pusad; Arya Gaikwad (8), Puja Gaikwad (27), Sahebrao Jadhav (50), Ambadas Waghmare, all from Washim, Ajay Sheshrao Devgan (23), Dnayneshwar Nathu, Rathod (38) from Pusad, Deepak Bajrang Shende (40) from Yavatmal, Bhagwan Shripad Manohar (65) from Washim, Satish Babusingh Rathod (28) and Swara Dnyandev Rathod (2), both from Yavatmal, Pramod Pawar (38) from Washim, Anil Chavhan (28) from Pusad, and Mahadev Dhotre (30) from Washim have been admitted to Orthopedic Department. Nikita Dnyandev Rathod (26) from Yavatmal, Prabhadevi Keshav Jadhav (50), Kiran Chaugule (12), Anita Sukhdev Chaugule (35) all from Washim are the other passengers of the bus who are from Vidarbha and receiving treatment at Government Hospital. Lakhan Rathod and Meerabai Rathod of Yavatml have been admitted to Silver Hospital while Vaishali Bhagade of Yavatmal is admitted at Suvidha Hospital. Meanwhile, after the accident, the Transport Department officials on Saturday inspected all long-distance sleeper coach buses of Chintamani Travels.
