RAIPUR,
As many as 2,81,509 cases were disposed of in the National Lok Adalat across State on Saturday.
As per the schedule of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), the National Lok Adalat was held under the guidance of Executive Chairman of Chhattisgarh Legal Services Authority (CGSLSA) Justice Goutam Bhaduri.
Around Rs 117 crore was awarded. 680 motor vehicle claim cases were also settled. 1649 cheque bounce cases were disposed of. Similarly, 730 matrimonial cases were disposed of that resulted in joy for a large number of litigants and their family members.
Wave of happiness spread across the faces of litigants whose cases were amicably disposed of. Various types of cases namely cheque bounce cases, matrimonial cases, offences relating to compoundable cases, motor vehicle claim cases, pre-litigation cases, municipal and revenue cases have been taken up for disposal.
The National Lok Adalats are efficient medium of dispute resolution as the appeal cannot be preferred against such cases, therefore it majorly helps in lowering the existing burdens of the Courts. In Durg district, five year old pending civil case for payment of 1 crore was disposed off after necessary counseling in Lok Adalat. All the courts were technologically equipped due to which a case which was pending in the Court of Durg JMFC, Payal Topno for past five years, since 2016, could be disposed of using video conferencing facility. A married woman, who left her husband’s house due to unavailability of toilet, was agreed to live with his husband after her husband assured that the toilet facility would be provided to her. The case was settled at Family Court Kabirdham district. Due to effective counseling and hard work, fruitful outcome could be obtained as disposal by successful compounding was made possible by using video conferencing facility, in a case pertaining to 76 year-old complainant who was hospitalized and in ventilator support. Member Secretary of the CGSLSA Anand Prakash Wariyal said that this historic success was possible only due to able guidance of Executive Chairman Justice Goutam Bhaduri and persistent efforts of every concerned judicial officer of the state
