Many flaws come to fore during his surprise inspection of District Hospital by Collector Pushpendra Kumar Meena. He inquired about the well-being, facilities and medical arrangements of the patients and their family members admitted in the hospital.
During this, he inspected the emergency OPD, infant ward, labour room and other wards and also checked the attendance register and duty roster.During the inspection of the wards, seeing the filth, broken commodes, wash basins and doors in the toilets, the Collector directed the Chief Medical Officer in strict words that filth and disorder in the hospital will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Blacklist the existing cleaning agency and ensure regular cleaning of the hospital by entering into an agreement with the new agency as soon as possible. Collector interacted with the patients admitted in the wards of the hospital and inquired about the facilities being provided in the hospital, availability of food and medicines etc. During the inspection of the maternity ward, the collector seeing dirty bed sheet in the bed of the newly constructed ward, told the nurse and staff on duty that there is a risk of infection to the patients, do not repeat such negligence again. Instructing the doctor, he said that clean bed sheets should be given in all the beds and the beds which do not have racks to keep medicines should also be installed. He asked the civil surgeon to make all necessary arrangements and send the photos. The Collector felt the lack of security personnel in the hospital premises; in this regard he spoke to the Superintendent of Police and instructed to deploy 4 police constables and 8 city soldiers as soon as possible. During inspection BMC Commissioner Rohit Vyas, Assistant Collector Laxman Tiwari, CNO Dr J P Meshram and Dr Akhilesh Yadav were also present.
