Stage is set for the elections of District Bar Association (DBA) 2022-2024 as the Election Committee, on Friday, approved nominations of 66 candidates for the 17 posts of office-bearers. The authorities said, 66 nominations had been approved while one was rejected for 17 posts of office-bearers including President, Vice-President, General Secretary, Joint Secretary, Library-in-charge, Treasurer and executive members.
Canvassing will stop on December 8 at 6 pm as the election will be held on December 9. Counting will be held on December 10. A total of 4,703 lawyers will exercise their franchise in the polls.
For the post of President, Advocates Roshan Bagde, Prakash Jaiswal, Pankaj Kothari, Madan Senad and Pramod Upadhyay are in the fray. Advocates Ashish Bide, Sachin Jaiswal and Manish Randive are contesting for the post of General Secretary.
Nine advocates will fight for the posts of Vice-President of the Bar. Advocates Baig Mohd Sajjad Athualla, Chandrashekhar Dhak, Mamta Shukla, Sunil Lacharwar, Usha Gujar, Ashish Nagpure. Bipin Kumar Telgote, Shrikant Gaulkar and Shekhar Tidke are contesting for the two posts of Vice-President.
For two posts of Joint Secretary, Advocates Sandeep Bawangade, Vasudev Kapse, Ashish Kataria, Smita Choudhary, Aparna Jha, Vishnu Pantawne, Ramesh Kapse, Manglesh Durugkar, Kumar Paunikar and Dhiraj Pazare are contesting the election. Advocates Shrikant Gawande, Shrikant Wandre and Swapnil Dubewar have locked in a triangular fight for post of Treasurer. For a post of Library-in-charge, Advocates Savita Kamble, Manoj Mendhe, Pinky Jagtap and Umesh Akone are in fray for the election.
Nomination of 33 candidates approved for nine posts of executive members. These candidates are -- Advocates Shrey Bangde, Vikrant Bhoyar, Vinod Bondade, Gurpreet Singh Chandok, Tejas Dadhe, Rabi Ghosh, Rekha Godbole, Jaishri Hedau, Mujtaba Hussain, Aakash Kamble, Anil Kaware, Shazad Khan, Hemant Madankar, Rajesh Manmode, Sudeep Meshram, Anuprita Mishrikotkar, Yogeshwaar Nikam, Naveed Opai, Snehal Pakhide, Sanjay Pimple, Saurabh Poddar, Manish Rai, Raunak Ranka, Hitesh Rewatkar, Fakira Sahu, Shahezad Sheikh, Ansh Singhania, Navjot Soni, Narendra Vaidhya, Jyoti Walde, Devenda Yadav and Shrikant Yedlewar. A nomination of a woman lawyer for the post of executive member was rejected by the returning officer.
