RAIPUR,
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has criticised Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Co-incharge Nitin Nabin after he opposed the installation of statue of Chhattisgarh Mahtari.
It may be mentioned that talking to media persons in Raipur, BJP Chhattisgarh Co-incharge Nitin Nabin said, “We talk of Indianism. What is the use of installing an idol, when the women of Chhattisgarh are not safe, then what will happen by installing an idol. Congress party has not fulfilled its poll promise to impose ban on sale of liquor in State. If anyone has realised the vision of Chhattisgarh, then former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee did it. Others are doing their politics. Congress has failed on all issues like security of women and ban on liquor. There is resentment in the minds of women about this. The BJP Mahila Morcha has planned to corner the Congress Government on all these issues.”
Baghel expressed his displeasure over the statement of BJP State Co-incharge Nitin Nabin. The Chief Minister termed the BJP leaders as exploiters of the people of Chhattisgarh. He said that the BJP leader is insulting Chhattisgarh Mahtari. Chief Minister Baghel stated, “Is Chhattisgarh out of India? Every state has its own pride and culture.
The statue of Chhattisgarh Mahtari has been installed in Raipur. The statue of Chhattisgarh Mahtari will be installed in the entire state. We see Chhattisgarh in the form of Mahtari i.e. mother. Like Mother India, Chhattisgarh is Mother for us. We chant the same slogan and also worship.” Baghel, “It is Chhattisgarh, which is the dear daughter of Mother India. The way we respect Mother India, Chhattisgarh is our mother. Now BJP leaders are opposing it and so it is the protest of the people of Chhattisgarh. The BJP was in power in the state for 15 years and never did any work to promote Chhattisgarhi culture and language. Now 42 tribes live in Chhattisgarh. The BJP never took care of these tribes. Today we are promoting Chhattisgarhi culture. The BJP feel problem.” The Chief Minister further said that the BJP had looted and exploited the people of the state during the 15 years rule. Now, people have started understanding their rights and all the artists are saying- ‘Chhattisgarhiya Sable Badhia’ and so the BJP leaders feel pain in their stomach. “We are proud to be Chhattisgarhiya. Nitin Nabin should apologize to the people of Chhattisgarh for his remark. Insults to Chhattisgarh and Chhattisgarhi Mahtari will not be tolerated,” he added. State Congress Media Chief Sushil Anand Shukla also criticized BJP leader Nitin Nabin’s statement and said that he should apologize for his statement against Chhattisgarh Mahtari. The Youth Congress workers burnt the effigy of BJP State Co-incharge Nitin Nabin at Jaistambh Chowk in the state capital on Thursday. District President Vinod Kashyap, General Secretary Guljeb Ahmad, Yogesh Tiwari, Prateek Yadu, Anis Nizami, Ajay Sahu, Vinay Dohre, Raj Gayakwad, Rahul Tiwari, Pravah Nashre, Haidar Ali and other Youth Congress workers participated in the protest.
