Separate KKM for tribals, declares Gadkari

WITH an aim to develop and nurture sportspersons from tribal areas, a separate Khasdar Krida Mahotsav for tribals will be organised in future, said Union Minister Nitin Gadkari. Gadkari was speaking during the inauguration function of Abhyudaya Youth Club’s Ekal Gram Sangathana, Vanbandhu Parishad and Sri Hari Satsang Samiti of Ekal Abhiyan Gram Swaraj Manch Yojana’s State-level ‘Krida Mahotsav’ at Divisional Sports Complex in Mankapur on Saturday. More than 300 rural and tribal boys and girls are participating in the two-day event. Gadkari said that due to naxal activities, the development of these areas were hampered. But now the government is providing basic amenities to the tribals and also providing education in these areas.
 
“In future, on the lines of Khasdar Krida Mahotsav, which is being organised in Nagpur for past many years, the sports festival will be held in tribal areas,” stated Gadkari. On the occasion, National President of Ekal Abhiyan Madhavendra Singh, Nikhil Mundle, Tribal Commissioner Ravindra Thakre, Dr Amit Samarth, Chef Vishnu Manohar, ex-mayor Sandip Joshi, Ashok Tapadia, Pallavi Dhatrak, Aruna Purohit, Ramavatar Agrawal, Krishna Dayma, Mahadev Ghodke, Nago Ganar, Santosh Sole, Ram Matode, Prof Sanjay Bhende, Dushyant Deshpande were present.
