The employees and officers in public sector general insuarance companies held demonstrations all over India against arbitary and unilateral imposition of Key Performance Indicator (KPI) and restructuring. The demonstrations were called by Joint Forum of Trade Unions and Associations (JFTU) of employees and officers in Public Sector General Insurance (PSGI) companies.
PSGI employees at Nagpur gathered in front of Regional Office of National Insurance Co Ltd, situated at Fidwi Tower, Mount Road, Sadar on December 21. The employees shouted slogans against Department of Financial Services (DFS) and General Insurers (Public Sector) Association of India (GIPSA). Slogans for merger of all four PSGI companies were also given. The employees also demanded merger of all the four PSGI companies, uniform 30 per cent family pension and 14% contribution of management in National Pension System (NPS).
In the meeting, Pravin Dongre of All India General Insurance SC/ST Employees Welfare Association said, “GIPSA member companies under the pressure of Department of Financial Services are trying to implement key performance indicator (KPI) and restructuring unilaterally”.
Prashant Dixit, General Secretary, General Insurance Employees’ Union, Western Zone said, “JFTU has taken decision of lunch hour demonstration on December 28, 2022 and on January 4, 2023, PSGI employees will stike the work”.
