The residents of four villages in Buldana district located on the border of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh have taken an extreme decision to migrate to Madhya Pradesh and citing the reason of lack of basic facilities. The four villages are Bhingara, Gomal-1, Gomal-2 and Chalistapari located in Jalgaon Jamod taluka of Buldana district.
The villages in question- Bhingara, Gomal 1 and 2 and Chalisatapari-are very remote. They lack roads, electricity and even drinking water supply. The tribals inhabiting these villages calim hat they do not even get tribal caste certificate from Government. The issue of caste certificate has been pending from many years.
In the midst of the Maharashtra-Karnataka border dispute in which Karnataka has staked claim on some villages in Maharashtra and vice versa, now these villagers from Buldana have declared that would vacate the village completely and shift to MP.
All these four village located in the Satpuda range are tribal dominated and villagers have alleged that they were being neglected by the State Government. The villagers would soon submit a memorandum in this regard to the Government.
It may be mentioned here that Jalgaon Jamod taluka is on the border of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra in the Satpura mountains. Burhanpur district is adjacent to the border of Maharashtra and tribal villages are situated along this border. It includes 19 tribal-dominated villages.
