In a bid to curb Naxal activities in residential area on the borders of neighbouring Chhattisgarh state, in three Naxal-affected police station, Special Squad will be formed and 30 local youths would be appointed under the same.
District Police Force has invited applications from eligible youths for this Special Squad. Selected youths would be imparted special training and then they would be entrusted responsibility of Security, conveying of information and other security related works in the naxal affected area of district. It may be recalled that in Samnapur, Bajag and Karanjai police station area. More than 100 km area is sharing border with the naxal affected area of Chhattisgarh state. As these area are remote and in dense forest area hence are far away from their respective police station.
Thus, it is challenging for police to patrol in this area. When local youths would be included in Special Squad then local police would get help from the local youths in collecting information, better information of forest and hill terrains, better searching. Local police also get benefit of the network of the local youths. As a matter of fact, naxalites after committing attacks in the Chhatisgarh state, runs to Dindori district remote forest area in search for safe hide-out. In border areas of district, inputs of naxal movement is regularly received but due to weak network of information, police cannot take timely action. Special Squad is being formed for three police station of district. This Special Squad is being formed in naxal affected areas of Dindori, Mandla and Balaghat district . S.P, Dindori Sanjay Singh informed that most important requisite for this Speical Squad is that applicant should be domicile of Bajag, Karanjia, Samnapur block and should be staying in the block from last ten years continuously. The physical fitness test for this applicants included 1600 metre run. The applicant has to pass physical test and interview also. The selected candidates would undergo medical check up and then they would be trained for three months in Dindori, Balaghat and Indore. The applicants (male) should be between 18 years -33 years age and female applicants should be between 18 years -38 years. For unreserved candidate, minimum education qualification is class 8th passed and for ST applicants class 5th pass is minimum education qualification. Till Dec 28, offline application would be accepted at S.P office. SHO, of naxal affected police station have been issued orders in this regard. SP Dindori has informed that Speical Squad would have special uniforms and rights like police constable. It may be recalled that on July 1, 2022, Central government has included Bajag, Karanjia, Samnapur in naxal affected areas list. Since long, police was receiving inputs of movement of naxalites hence CRPF. Hawk Force, and others security agencies are being deployed here and all required resources are being made available
