JNAU, World Bank’s NAHEP hold online practical, experimental training on Remote Sensing

The online practical and experimental training on Remote Sensing is being organised at Agriculture Engineering College located at Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University (JNAU) under National Agriculture Higher Education Project (NAHEP) of World Bank from Monday. The training will be concluded on March 16, 2022. The training programme is being organised following the inspiration of Vice-chancellor, JNAU, Dr Pradeep Kumar Bisen, guidance of Dean, Agriculture Faculty, Dr Dhirendra Kumar Khare and Director, Education, Dr Abhishek Shukla and support of Dean Student Welfare, Dr Amit Kumar Sharma.
The training programme is being organised for the professors, scientists and project officers associated with training departments under Gwarlior, Raipur, PUSA Delhi, Jaipur, Nagaland University, Aligarh, ICAR-Atari Jabalpur, TNU University and Krishi Vidyapeeth Akola. The programme is being conducted successfully under the direction of Chief invigilator, Dr R K Nema and Principal Scientist, Dr Manoj Kumar Awasthi. Around thirty-seven participants including professors, scientists and project employees, are being enriched with the basic knowledge of Remote Sensing and GIS and it’s use in different sectors of agriculture including evaluation of ground water efficiency, spot selection for developing water storage infrastructure, evaluation of soil erosion and others. Simultaneously, the experts also inform about the working system of QGIS software.
The expert team comprising Scientist Dr Suresh Kumar from Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, Dehradun, Dr N R Patel, Dr Poonam Tiwari and Dr Aparna Vajpayee from NAHEP Project, Dr Saurabh Nema, Krishna Singh, Rachit Nema, Dr P S Pawar, Dr Devendra Vast, Sumit Kakde, Anjali Patel, Dr Umakant Rawat and others imparted training and rendered technical support during the programme.
