BUTIBORI Manufacturers Association has conducted a meeting with Maharashtra Labour Welfare Board (MLWB) officials recently at MK Goel Auditorium, BMA. The function was graced by Raviraj Ilve, Welfare Commissioner, Mumbai and Nandlal Rathod, Assistant Commissioner, Nagpur and other officials of Nagpur MLWB. Industry fraternity was represented by many labour representatives and HR officers. In the meeting, a request was made by all to MLWB to open a local office and recreation centre in Butibori for ease of operation and benefit for all local workers. BMA has also expressed interest in coordination of fees of MLWB so that there is no requirement for officers to visit factories. Members requested Raviraj Ilve to formulate a scheme for settlement of long pending arrears which are being carried forward due to various reasons.

Raviraj Ilve, Welfare Commissioner felicitated BMA President Pradeep Khandelwal and appreciated efforts of President and BMA for expressing interest in knowing the benefits of various schemes of MLWB. He said, “Most units are only keen to pay the monthly fees as a compliance and are not interested in taking advantage of the scheme.” However, he was surprised to find the interest of Butibori workers to know about the various schemes being run by the Board.
Ilve also asked Nandlal Rathod to coordinate and conduct a detailed workshop for awareness of programmes and also for settlement of old dues of companies in an amicable manner. Raviraj Ilve also announced that no hike is being planned in fees looking at the COVID-19 situation. The programme was organised under guidance of Pradeep Khandelwal, President BMA. Shashikant Kotharkar, Secretary, Nitin Lonkar, IPP and Executive Council members of BMA attended the programme.
