BRIDGE buffs had a patient and comfortable round of bridge at Vidarbha Bridge Association’s Sports Complex at Shankar Nagar, their favourite bridge playing haunt. Sajid Mulla, with his younger brother Ali, made most of weekend as they clinched top honours in pairs event. Competing from a field of 14 pairs from Vidarbha region in 26 deals International Match Point contest played in Howell movement, Sajid and Ali emerged champions with a tally of 58 IMP. Their performance was applauded by all bridgemates.

 

MI Hararwala and AK Nandgawe duo finished runners-up with 30 IMP. Father and son duo of Raja and Amit Rewatkar completed the trio at the podium having put together 29 IMP. Amit Rewatkar was the tournament director. Bridge buffs can look forward for competing in a three-day, VBA sponsored annual winter open bridge championship from February 25, the details of the same will be revealed over the week assured, Amit on behalf of the association.
