RASHTRASANT Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) recently felicitated Prof Vijay Barse after movie Jhund was picturised on his life and NGO Slum Soccer. Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan (Vijay Borade) played the role of Prof Barse in the movie along with several other Nagpurians who made their debut. Prof Barse retired as the Head of Sports Department, Hislop College and started Slum Soccer for the downtrodden and marginalised youth. Through football, Prof Barse is changing lives of slum dwellers.

 

The felicitation programme was chaired by Vipin Kamdar while Pro-VC Dr Sanjay Dudhe was the chief guest. RTMNU VC Dr Subhash Chaudhary was the special guest who felicitated Prof Barse and his wife Ranjana. Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Director, Department of Sports and Physical Education, RTMNU, Registrar Dr Raju Hiwse, Dr Dhananjay Welukar and others were also present.
