Over 10,000 women register for ‘Break The Bias’ marathon

NAGPUR District administration will be organising first-ever mother-daughter marathon with a message of ‘Break The Bias’ on March 13, Sunday.
The marathon, to be held in three different categories, will be flagged off at 8 am.
Nagpur Collector R Vimala, while talking to the media, said that till now over 10,000 women have enrolled themselves online for the unique event.
She urged Nagpurians to participate in the event in large numbers making it a huge success.
“Girls studying in 8th, 9th and 11th classes and their mothers and college going girls can participate in the marathon that has been divided into three groups — 5km and 3km competitive marathon runs and 2km ‘Run For Fun’ that will be open to all. Top ten finishers in each category will be rewarded,” informed R Vimla during a press
conference.
“The participants can reach and return from the venue (6 am to 9 am) using Maha Metro which will be free of cost,” added R Vimla. “The total prize money is around Rs five lakh and top 10 participants in each category will be rewarded. “The winner in the 5km category will get an E-Bike while the second place finisher will be richer by Rs 41,000 and third placed participant will get Rs 31,000,” she added.
“Similarly, the winner of the 3 kms marathon will be richer by Rs 41,000, the second placed will get Rs 31,000 and the women finishing third will get Rs 21,000,” the Collector declared. There are no entry fees.
The chest numbers for 3 kms and 2 kms participants will be distributed at Setu, Civil Lines, on Saturday. Those interested may register online using the following link released by the administrationhttps://forms.gle/aj4DTYYMDhuoULwa6.
