Bank of Baroda holds national level seminar on cyber crime in banking

Bank of Baroda, one of the leading public sector banks in the country, recently conducted a national level seminar on the topic ‘Cyber crime in Banking’ in Mysore in Karnataka. Chief General Manager, Bank of Baroda Ajay Khosla inaugurated the seminar in presence of Superintendent of Police M D Sharath. Elaborating on the objective of the seminar, Deputy General Manager of the bank Sanjay Singh said that the Bank of Baroda is conducting such seminars in Hindi language for the past 8 years. “During the recent corona phase, cases of the cyber crimes have increased and thus the seminar has been organised. The bank also aims at creating awareness on various topics related to banks among the masses,” he said. In his address, Khosla said that the banking sector is one of most affected sectors because of cyber crimes.
 
“While adopting new technology, there is need to keep ourselves aware of the measures to avoid cyber crimes,” he said. Assistant Director (Implementation), Ministry of Home Affairs Narendra Mehra; Chief Information Security Officer Sarvesh Gupta; General Manager Bengaluru Zone - Sudhakar D Nayak; and Zonal Head R Murlikrishanan were among the prominent persons who were present on the occasion. Assistant General Manager Punit Kumar Mishra conducted the proceedings of the seminar. Cyber Crimes are one of the most challenging issues in today’s world. Cybersecurity threats are becoming an emerging factor in an ever-expanding and technology-driven market especially in the banking sector.
