RAIPUR,
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel after watching the ‘The Kashmir Files’ at PVR in Magneto Mall, Raipur said that the picture has shown half-truth. He said that movie was made on terrorist incidents that happened in Kashmir. The entire movie is focused on only one family, but in the end, the hero of the movie
emphasised that not only Hindus, the people of different religions including Buddhists, Muslims, Sikhs were also murdered. But this
movie has been made to send only one political message that only Kashmiri Pandits were displaced,
he added.
“Half-truth is shown in the movie. It is not appropriate to show one side in the film. If the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre wants to do politics through this movie and prepare for 2024 parliamentary elections, then they are taking the country in a very wrong direction,” said CM.
Baghel further said that even today the grievances of Kashmiri Pandits have not been resolved and no attempts have been made for their resettlement. “This is the period of 1989-90 when VP Singh was the Prime Minister and the Bharatiya Janata Party was extending its support to the government with Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani at the helm in BJP. Jagmohan was the Lieutenant Governor of Kashmir that time. But neither the BJP nor these leaders made any attempt to stop the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from Kashir instead Kashmiri Pandits were asked to leave the valley. President’s rule was imposed in Jammu and Kashmir, but the army was not sent there,”
said Baghel.
Even today the problem of Kashmiri Pandits is the same; Article 370 has been abolished, but no work is being done for the resettlement of Kashmiri Pandits, he added.
CM Baghel criticized the movie and said that the movie has given no solution to the problem but it’s only a narration.
“Atal Bihari Vajpayee ruled for 6 years then and now there is Modi’s Government for 8 years, numerous days have passed since Article 370 was abolished but no attempt has been made to solve the problems of Kashmiri Pandits. Even the film was unable to show any solution. When a director makes a movie he has to show the solution to the problem he is raising but the director failed to provide a solution in the film and only gave lectures and this government only did politics by removing Article 370, Baghel pointed.
The Chief Minister said that the film has shown intense violence which will not have a good impression on a child’s mind. Emphasizing that it is necessary to find a solution to the problem, Baghel said that the Government of India has so far not done anything in the direction of resettlement of Kashmiri Pandits.
“The main actor of the film also narrated the bloody part of Kashmir’s history, saying that Buddhists, Sikhs and Muslims were also murdered at that time,” Baghel said while lamenting that the film was distorted in its content and provoking.
