The 39th Foundation Day of MIDC Industries Association (MIA) Hingna was celebrated recently with great enthusiasm and adhering to the COVID protocols at ‘MIA House’, MIDC Hingna, Nagpur. Nagpur District Collector R Vimala was chief guest of the function while Joint Director of Industries Nagpur Ashok Dharmadhikari was guest of honour. Arun Lanjewar and P Mohan served as the Master of Ceremony (MOC) for the programme. The programme started with lighting the traditional lamp and garlanding the deity. Initially, the MOCs welcomed all the dignitaries and gave their brief introduction. President of MIA Hingna Chandrashekhar Shegaonkar welcomed the guests and felicitated them with a memento and a sapling. In his welcome speech, President gave an overview of MIDC Industries Association and all the activities carried out under it.
 
He also spoke about the issues being faced by the MIDC Hingna Industrial Area. The guests on their part assured to take up these issues. On Foundation Day every year, MIA Hingna recognizes the success of a few outstanding industrialists by honouring them with the ‘Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards’. This year the awards were bestowed upon Dr Amanat Khokar, Managing Director of Megataj Agrovet Pvt. Ltd.; Amey Khanolkar, CEO of Savita Auto Industries; and Dr Meghna Tidke, Director of Aroma Herbs & Ayurvedic Industries Pvt. Ltd. The awardees were felicitated at the hands of the chief guest. The entrepreneurs in their address univocally spoke about the hardwork, determination, their core principles, etiquette and their inspiration which made them and their company going inspite of the pandemic and post-pandemic challenges. They also shared their vision and the work done by them for the society during the pandemic phase.
 
They also shared such recognition of their work in the form of awards motivates them to do even better for the industrial ecosystem and society at large. Continuing with the tradition, past presidents of MIA were felicitated at the function for the consistent and untiring efforts in developing a vibrant industrial association. Due to health issues, many of the Past Presidents of MIA Hingna couldn’t attend the programme but conveyed their best wishes. S K Mitra and Capt. (Retd.) C M Randhir were felicitated at the hands of the chief guest for their contribution in building a strong MIA. Priyadarshini Borkar, Tehsildar - Hingna; Mahendra Patel, Regional Officer- MIDC Nagpur; A K Shrivastav and Dellip Jogawe, Executive Engineer, MIDC Sub-Division-II Hingna were felicitated. All the fellow association members namely, Pradeep Khandelwal, President-BMA; Poonam Lala, Chairperson-VIA LEW; Julfesh Shah, Chairman-COSIA Vidarbha Chapter and Reeta Lanjewar, Past President-VIA LEW, were also felicitated by the President of MIA Hingna. Ashok Dharmadhikari congratulated the award winners and said that MSMEs are doing a great job by giving employment to so many people and also keeping the wheels of the economy moving inspite of the many challenges and especially post the lockdown. He also emphasized on creating industrial clusters which will greatly benefit the local MSMEs.
 
He proudly shared the fact that several pending payment cases were successfully settled during his tenure as the Chairperson of MSME Facilitation Cell and similarly asked associations to form a grievance redressal committee so that members could benefit from it. R Vimala in her speech congratulated the award winners for their untiring efforts and the initiatives taken by them. She also shared that the award winning industries have been successful as they have worked with sincerity and with their core principles. She stressed upon a common platform wherein Government officials, industrialists and other stakeholders could meet at regular intervals and discuss the issues and solutions to the various problems. She also emphasized that industries should change and adapt as per the changing business needs and environment for them to be successful. She assured to take up the various issues in the meeting with concerned departments and help them resolve. Secretary of MIA Hingna Sachin Jain proposed the formal vote of thanks. The program was attended by fellow association members, Government dignitaries, Executive Committee members of MIA Hingna and industry members of MIDC Hingna Industrial Area.
