Gondwana Club trio triumph

 

THE Gondwana Club trio of Ranjan Charmode, Sunil Neware and Dr Mahesh Kriplani triumph in their respective age groups of the Gondwana Club-MSLTA Seniors Open Tennis Tournament that concluded on Sunday.

In men’s singles 45+ final, fourth seed Charmode was declared winner as the an injured opponent and third seed Sanjay Chandwani could not take to the court. Neware was too good for Vijay Kamat winning 8-2 for 55+ title while Dr Kriplani also scored an identical victory over D Nariman in the 65+ final.

In 55+ doubles, A Shah-R Chowhan beat S Sabarwal-V Kamat 8-3 and in 45+ doubles final, pair of S Chandwani and V Adwani pipped Charmode-R Deshpande 8-6.

Ashok Bhiwapurkar, Tournament Director; Aashish Khemuka, Treasurer Gondwana Club and In-charge Sports; Pankaj Chokhani, President Gondwana Club, Dr Sudhir Bhiwapurkar, Treasurer, MSLTA, Mumbai; Parth Majumdar, Gondwana Club Managing Committee Member were present during the prize distribution function.
