TOP seed India’s Zeel Desai and second seed Russian Anna Ureke had an easy outing as they moved into the second round with victories over their respective rivals in the Aryan Pumps-MSLTA Women’s $15K ITF World Tennis Tour Event organised by Nagpur District Hard Court Tennis Association (NDHTA) under the auspices of ITF, AITA and MSLTA at its Tennis Academy at Ramnagar. Top Zeel Desai hardly had to sweat it out as she ousted Saumya Vig 6-0, 6-1 while second seeded Anna crushed qualifier Niditra Rajmohan 6-3, 6-1 to make it to the next round of the tournament. It was an easy day for the seeded players as third seeded German Emily Seibold had no difficulty in sending Nidhi Chilumula packing with a margin of 6-4, 6-1.
Fifth seed Vaidehi Chaudhari had to work out hard as she beat Soha Sadiq 6-3, 6-4. It was a tough game for seventh seed Sathwika Sama who was stretched by Adithi Are before winning the match 7-5, 6-2. In the clash of qualifiers, Shreya Tatavarthy had to fight out hard to register a 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 win over Jagmeet Kaur Grewal in the longest match of the day which lasted for two hours and 13 minutes.
