Chandrapur, which is famous for its hot and scorching summer, was on Tuesday the third hottest place in the world with 43.4 degrees Celsius.
Following the same trend, Akola was the another city of Vidarbha which was placed seventh in the list of hottest places in the world with 43.1 degrees Celsius.
The maximum temperature of Nagpur is also showing rising trend as the city recorded the hottest day of the season on Tuesday with 41.5 degrees Celsius.
As per the El Dorado Weather, Kayes city of Mali is the hottest place on earth with 44.4 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, Segou of Mali is second in the list with 43.8 degrees Celsius whereas Chandrapur is third in the list.
Pilani and Churu cities from India were also placed in eighth and ninth spot with 43.1 degrees Celsius and 43.0 degrees Celsius respectively. Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted increasing in temperature in last week of March due to change in wind pattern. The increasing temperature was reported in all over Vidarbha in last couple of days. Nagpur, on Monday also recorded the maximum temperature of the season and again on Tuesday it crossed the highest mark.
As per the prediction, on Tuesday, Nagpur, Akola and Buldhana were under heatwave condition. Similar heatwave condition will prevail over Nagpur, Akola, Amravati, Buldhana and Yavatmal districts of Vidarbha on March 30 and 31 too. The heatwave will continue further on April 1 and 2 also at Akola and Buldhana districts.
On Tuesday, Amravati, Buldhana, Bramhapuri, Gondia, Wardha, Washim and Yavatmal recorded the maximum temperature above 40 degrees Celsius whereas Gadchiroli recorded the lowest maximum temperature with 39.6 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature of all over Vidarbha was recorded above 20 degree mark except Nagpur and Gondia on Tuesday.
The temperature will increase in the first week of April and it is likely to touch the 44 degrees Celsius mark till April 5, said a meteorologist.
