Confused by choices

 

 

 

EVERYTHING today is loud! It’s more of a fashion today to proclaim each and everything out to the world, however not the least in loud and clear, as they say. Society is caught up in a paradox, it is shrinking within its cocoon and yet has a tendency to shout down others. The growing tendency nowadays to let each and every one know about their feelings has caught fancy of millennia. For that matter, finesse of feelings has lost all meaning in the social cacophony. Welcome to the age of explosion! There is a bombardment of choices in which the common man finds himself all at sea. Not knowing what to choose, where to go, the common man seems confused, more so when everything appears to be easy.

 

That must not be the case in modern times since everything is instant almost ready at beck and call, one may say. One just needs to take a ‘guided’ tour, flip through the menu and click to arrive at a quick decision in a split second. But the same power of technology is proving a hard nut to crack for the ordinary people as they navigate through the minefield of choices. So, what we have today is a confused character that abounds everywhere. It is being reflected in the social behaviour. People’s emotional quotient is not finding the required moorings. The confusion has further led to isolation as people are becoming too conscious of their decisions.

 

This is the problem or plenty, it blurs the very notion of right and wrong and often takes one to wrong choices. And to hide those choices, the common man, flushed with too much to choose from, is seeking a confused loneliness. In short, despite being living in jet age, where every new day comes with new inventions that promise to make life more easy for the common man, the ‘ease of living’ is proving to be a lot more difficult. The question then is, how to go about living life in such heady times? The answer is pretty simple, one may argue. But then again, this drives down to a choice which is the game is all about. Making the right decision at the right time and beyond that be satisfied with the same is what is basically needed. It all boils down to timing and clicking at the right moment to achieve what is desired. n
