Jaipal, Prajakta shine in marathon

NAGPUR’S long distance runners Jaipal Bhoyar and Prajakta Godbole excelled in the recently held Thane Half Marathon. In the above 40 years men’s competition, Bhoyar clocked a timing of 1 hr 19 mins and 10 secs to clinch the gold medal. Similarly in the open women’s category, renowned athlete Prajakta finished second with a timing of 1 hr and 20 mins. Jaipal is an employee of RPTS and coaches Maharashtra Police. He is member of Track Star Athletics Club and trains under Ravindra Tong. For his top finish, Jaipal received a cash prize of Rs 25,000. Prajakta is member of Fitness Forever Sports Academy and is coached by Gaurav Mirase.
 
She won a cash award of Rs 1 lakh for her second place finish, informs a press release issued by Dr Sharad Suryawanshi, Secretary, Nagpur District Athletics Association. NDAA President Gurudev Nagrale, Nagesh Sahare, Dr Sanjay Chaudhary, SJ Anthony, Umesh Naidu, Ramchandra Wani, Shekhar Suryawanshi, Archana Kottewar, Prof Buntyprasad Yadav, Dr Vibekanand Singh, RTPS Principal Chetna Tidke, Jitendra Ghordadekar, Harendra Thakre, Sunil Kapgate, Mangesh Paunikar, Amit Thakur, Chandrabhan Kolte, Vandev Thakre, Brijmohan Singh Rawat, Swapnil Gawali, Sachin Hulke, Rajesh Bhute and others congratulated both the athletes for their performance and wished them luck.
