RTMNU to tie up with industries for trainings, global certifications and job opportunities

Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) is
likely to tie up with various industries soon with a view to make its curriculum more useful for the society and securing placement for its pass-outs. By infusing industry-based skills into education, the university would ensure that students get practical knowledge and graduate with a holistic view of the specialisations.
Revealing the plans to ‘The Hitavada’ Dr Subhash Chaudhari, Vice-Chancellor said, “The university would be making formal collaborations with industries in the areas of curriculum development, teaching and learning, research and development, consultancy as well as securing suitable industrial placements for students.”
Students of RTMNU will get training of Systems, Applications and Products (SAP) in Data Processing System through Primus SAP Academy. This is for the first time that any university in State is providing the facility of SAP authorised training to students of RTM Nagpur University. The process will not stop here. These SAP trained students will get internship and placement support too.
“We are sending first batch of students to Benagluru for the internship at global business house FutureX. The students will receive training and internship by directly Industry professionals. This will enable them to become a readymade product to directly work in the industry,” informed Dr Chaudhari to ‘The Hitavada’.
Students will get “e-instructional materials” solely for the purpose of institution’s teaching of the course from the company that are non-proprietary and available in public domains.
University has not kept the target of its new idea limited to students receiving technical education. It has joined hands with Unique Institute of Higher Learning Pvt. Ltd. Under this tie-up, a screening test for the scholarship programme will be conducted. Under this activity, 100 students will be selected on merit basis. These 100 students will be given scholarship for the foundation course for competitive examinations and 25 more students will be given full scholarship for second year and 3rd year each for the foundation course for competitive examinations. Three more students (1 each for specialisation course of UPSC Civil Services, MPSC Rajyaseva and PSA combine exams coaching) will be given a full scholarship every year
from 2nd year onwards after successful completion of foundation course Software giant IBM company is likely to have set-up in coordination with RTMNU in Nagpur. The estimated cost of this set up will be Rs 125 crore. IBM will share 75% cost while remaining 25% will be given by RTMNU. Here students will get top-class training, the requirement of top companies. Company trainers will stay here, they will impart skill training to students, handover the set-up after three years. TCSion, Tata-STRIVE and Land T-EduTech are in pipeline for various skill trainings and skill courses.
