Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (MPLSA), Jabalpur, Member Secretary, Rajit Karmahe informed that on Saturday, as per information received till 7 pm, 23,603 pending cases and 49,295 Pre-litigation cases and total 72,898 cases have been settled mutually involving an amount of Rs 3,73,50,86,063 in the National Lok Adalat.
The National Lok Adalat held on May 14, was organised under the directions of National Legal Services Authority (NLSA), New Delhi and under the guidance and motivation of Justice Ravi Malimath, the Chief Justice and Patron-in-Chief, Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority and Justice Sheel Nagu, Executive Chairman, Madhya Pradesh State Legal Services Authority-Jabalpur. The Lok Adalat was organised across the State including Principal Seat Jabalpur and Benches at Gwalior and Indore of the High Court of MP and all the District Courts, Taluka Courts, Labour Courts, Family Courts and other courts/tribunals in the State. Under the constant guidance of the Executive Chairman Justice Sheel Nagu, Member Secretary, MPSLSA Rajiv Karmahe, conducted several meetings with all Insurance Companies, Bankers, Secretaries, Family Court Judges and all the Presiding Officers of the Labour Courts. Result of the regular supervision of Executive Chairman, appeared in the present National Lok Adalat of year 2022, in all 23,603 pending cases and 49,295 Pre-litigation cases total 72,898 cases have been settled mutually involving an amount of Rs 3,73,50,86,063. In the above National Lok Adalat, 1361 Benches were constituted at district level. Apart from that, 16 Benches of High Court Judges at Principal Seat- Jabalpur and both the Benches at Indore and Gwalior functioned in today’s Lok Adalat and as many as 949 have been settled.
In this National Lok Adalat Traffic E-Challan Cases were also taken up and disposed as pre-litigation cases in District Court Bhopal. As a special endeavour regarding wide publicity and displaying the schemes of NALSA and SLSA, exhibitions have been organized at district level under the directions of MPSLSA. In the said organized exhibition Brochures, Pamphlets, Banners and other material regarding NALSA and SLSA schemes were displayed and Helpdesk was also established for providing assistance to the litigants. Members of the BAR, Print and Electronic Media and PLVs played a major role for wide publicity and in reaching to the common people the message of holding this Lok Adalat on May 14, 2022 and to obtain early, easy & accessible justice by mutual understanding.
