Girls outshine boys in HSC, HSSC exams

Girls outshone boys by a big margin in the High School and Higher Secondary School Certificate Examinations-2022, conducted by Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education (CGBSE) in March this year. While HSC results remained 74.23 per cent, HSSC results remained 79.30 per cent as School Education Minister Dr Premsai Singh Tekam announced the results at the Board Office in Raipur on Saturday in the presence of CGBSE Chairman Dr Alok Shukla, Secretary Professor V K Goyal and other senior officials.
The 74.23 High School Certificate (HSC) examination results include 78.84 per cent girls and 69.07 per cent
boys. Similarly, the 79.30 per cent Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) Examination results include 81.15 per cent girls and 77.03 per cent boys.
A total of 3,75,694 students were enrolled for the HSC examination, out of which 3,63,301 students, including 1,71,539 boys and 1,91,762 girls, had appeared for the examination. Results of 3,63,007 students were declared, however, 2,69,478 students could qualify the HSC examination. As many as 1,32,047 (36.38 per cent) students passed with first division followed by 1,18,130 (33.54 per cent) students passed with second division and 19,270 (5.31 per cent) students passed with third division.
Results of 294 students, including 115 cheating cases, have been withheld for different reasons. Results of 17 students are under investigation. Besides, results of 28 students will be declared later. It may be mentioned, results of 2020 offline examination was recorded 73.62 per cent. Results of 15,983 HSC students were declared as supplementary. A total of 2,92,611 students were enrolled for HSSC examination-2022, of which 2,87,673 students, including 1,29,213 boys and 1,58,460 girls, had appeared for it. Results of 2,87,485 were declared by the CGBSE. Out of which 2,27,991 could qualify.
As many as 85,124 (29.60 per cent) students the HSSC examination with first division followed by 1,31,549 (45.75 per cent) students passed with second division and 11,3030 (3.93 per cent) students passed with third division. Results of 34,199 students remained supplementary. Results of 188 students were withheld for various reasons, 7 results withheld for cheating and 171 results were withheld for ineligibility. Results of six students will be declared later.
The merit lists of the HSC and HSSC examination have been prepared without adding the bonus marks, said the Minister. Governor Anusuiya Uikey, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and School Education Minister Dr Tekam congratulated the students.
