Staff Reporter
The State Tiger Strike Force (STSF) has become active after the clash of poachers and policemen in Guna, in which three policemen were martyred. Teams from Guna and Gwalior are active and a team of senior officers from Bhopal has also left for Guna. At present, STSF has summoned and started interrogating the poachers who had carried out hunting incidents in the past in the surrounding districts, including Guna. Here, the Guna Police have also sought a list of miscreants related to hunting and deforestation in the forests from the Forest Department.
Along with the attack on the police, wild animals were also being hunted. This is being seen as the failure of the local forestmen as well. Had the forest personnel been active, the hunters probably would have thought before attacking the police personnel openly like this, and the three policemen would not have lost their lives. This is a major episode in which police had to chase away the poachers who went hunting in the forest instead of the Forest Department and three policemen lost their lives. Now after the incident, the local forest officials have resorted to the informer system and have intensified their investigation about the poachers.
Inter-state gang’s role suspected
Along with the local poachers, the STSF officials are also suspecting the poachers of the inter-state gang in the attack on the police by the poachers. In the past the poachers who were caught from different states from Guna and adjoining districts will also be questioned. Most of such hunters are either in jail and if needed, their remand can also be sought.

They also chased away the poachers but the poachers opened fire on them, in which Parvat Singh Gurjar sustained serious injuries and Inder Singh Gurjar got stabbed.
