Stage set for President’s visit to IIM-Nagpur on 8th

The stage is set for the inauguration of new campus of Nagpur’s Indian Institute of Management (IIM) at the hands of President of India Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday.
Dr Madhavi Khode-Chaware convened a joint meeting of all senior officials of Nagpur to review the arrangements for the President’s programme. She directed the officials to fulfill their respective responsibilities. R Vimala, District Collector; Basavraj Teli, Deputy Commissioner of Police; Asha Pathan, Deputy Commissioner of Revenue; Dr Sanjay Jaiswal, Deputy Director of Health Services, Hemant Patil, Superintendent Engineer, Public Works Department (Electricity section), senior officers of IIM, MIHAN, Nagpur Municipal Corporation.
Ram Nath Kovind will arrive at Nagpur’s Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport by special aircraft of Indian Air Force on Sunday, May 8 at 9.25 am. He will leave for IIM-Nagpur housed in MIHAN at 9.35 am.
The programme at IIM will be held between 10 am and 11 am. At 11 am, President will go to Raj Bhavan. The time between 11.30 am and 4 pm at Raj Bhavan will be reserved after which at 4.25 pm President will depart for Delhi from Nagpur.
While passing instructions to follow all the protocols related to President’s tour, Dr Madhavi Chaware asked all the officials and employees deployed for the tour to get their RTPCR tests done. R Vimala gave instructions to officials regarding the arrangements to be made in Raj Bhavan for the stay of President. Nagpur’s IIM is a prestigious institute that has reached on global map in a short period of time. It has several projects running in collaboration with the internationally acclaimed universities of England, America, Canada, Japan, Denmark, France. IIM Nagpur has made a revolution in distance education mode also. It has also started providing management education online to the working professionals. Last year it has provided education to the professionals at Pune.
During coronavirus pandemic every sector faced problems and education field was no exception. But, IIM-Nagpur witnessed 100 per cent admission.
IIM spread across 132 acre land has several centres of management and administration with 665 students studying in various branches. The classrooms in IIM are state-of-the art. IIM Nagpur wore a new look due to new campus.
