Targeting one lakh members by 2025, the National Organisation of Bank Workers (NOBW), an industrial federation of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangha representing bank employees working in the banking sector, on Tuesday launched mege membership drive. At present, the NOBW, which is affiliated with BMS, has about 35,000 members across the country.
Man Mohan Das, General Secretary of NOBW, said the objective behind the drive is to make the bank workers free from the clutches of communist ideology. “We are working for the welfare of the nation, welfare of the industry and welfare of employees as well and we want to take this message to the masses,” he said.
Das was in the city on Monday to attend the meeting of NOBW office-bearers. In a meeting held here, the organisation also discussed various issues like. It was also decided that the organisation will participate in the All India Bank Strike on June 27. Five day week working in the public sector banks is one of the demands of the agitating employees.
