with a total tally of 13 medals including five gold, two silver and six bronze medals, Nagpur secured third place in the 19th State-level Sub-junior Wushu Championship-2022 organised under the aegis of All Maharashtra Wushu Association concluded recently in Pune.
As many as 28 districts of Maharashtra participated in the meet. Mumbai City emerged champions while Dhule finished runners-up.
The players who won medals for Orange City include: Sanshu (Girls): (Under-21 kg) Yugandhara Bawane (gold); (U-30 kg) Khushi Talmale (bronze); (U-39 kg) Saba Sheikh (bronze); (U-42 kg) Kumudini Bisen (gold); (U-45 kg) Swity Meshram (gold); (U-48 kg) Tanisha Pradhan (bronze); (U-56 kg) Bhumika Sahu (bronze).
Sanshu (Boys): (U-36 kg) Pradyuman Barapatre (silver); (U-39 kg) Saksham Mohod (gold); (U-52 kg) Shlok Thakre (bronze); (U-56 kg) Parth Mirashe (gold).
In the Taolu event, two players from Nagpur Mrugakshi Zode and Chaitanya Dandade won silver and bronze medal respectively.
The players give credit of their success to their parents and coaches. Secretary of Nagpur District Wushu Association Deepak Bisen and other officials congratulated the team for their success at the State Championship.
