The Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company Limited (MPPGCL) signed a pact with South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL) of Coal India for jointly establishing 660 MW thermal power station at Amarkantak Thermal Power Station, Chachai, on Friday.
On the occasion, MPPGCL, Managing Director, Manjeet Singh and SECL, General Manager, Arupdatt Choudhary signed an agreement for establishing a joint venture. MPPGCL, Director (Commercial), Pratish Kumar Dubey, Executive Director (Production), B L Naval, SECL, Chief Manager, Ajay Kumar
Sen and other officials were present.
The new 660 MW thermal power station will be established with advanced super critical technology and air cooled condenser technology will be implemented for the power station to reduce water requirement in power generation. SECL will ensure quality coal supply for the project. The power project will be established with an estimated cost of Rs. 4,667.87 crores.
Madhya Pradesh Government had given its consent for establishment of the project during cabinet meeting in January 2022. It has been expected that the 660 MW’s unit will be established and synchronized in year 2027-28. SECL, GM, Arupdatt Choudhary has expected that efficient engineering of MPPGCL and quality coal supply from SECL will achieve new dimensions of power generation with 660 MW unit.
